Watching a Video at Mommies who Drink...

Claire and Eric very bravely opened their home for wine and pizza play date on Friday night...after the kids ate their fill they sat down (briefly) for Cars, the movie, while parents tried to enjoy some adult conversation. 10 minutes later they were all running around again!

Decorating the Christmas Tree
Maddie helped pick out the tree at Whitings and then really got into putting the ornaments on the tree. We had seen Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman at the Yountville Tree lighting the day before with Jamie and she LOVED the idea that she could light up her own tree and put Santa ornaments on it!

Thanksgiving 2006
Maddie had a great time playing with all the Hatfield kids. Jane made a pile of leaves that the kids ran and jumped into and Mac taught Maddie how to climb to the top of her Playhouse...

Jamie kept up with all the bigger kids and even the biggest kids (mom, dad et all) had a wonderful time devouring 2 turkeys and all the trimmings.

And she thought it was really nice. In fact she said "Daddy your office is like a hotel!" Clearly this girl has traveled well in her short life to equate Winston's sleek lobby to a hotel lobby. The did have orchids everywhere, so maybe she thought she was in Hawaii...

Traditions
Mom (Nana Sally to Maddie...) taught me lots of things, but most of all the importance of traditions...Heart shaped pancakes on valentine's day, 100 friend to celebrate the 4th of July, and special surprises behind closed doors christmas morning. For kids its good to know what to expect, and I think we have our first Bailey Tradition in Halloween. For the second year we had pizza with the Alts, and then headed to Avila Street for trick or treating. Maybe its the age, maybe we are smarter about bringing wine in roadies, but this year it was a blast. Maddie loved getting candy from all the people, she even trick or treated our local police car...after every house she said, let go to the next house...she kept wanting more...and it wasn't just the candy talking.

After the treats, as we were walking home we stopped in A16. Last year Shelly loved Maddie's fish costume, so we stopped in to show her the giraffe, and a few minutes later we were eating more pizza, drinking good wine, and ending a perfect night at our favorite restaurant...
