Maddie and Mom hung out on Chestnut Street on Friday afternoon--watching everyone go by, sipping juice and generally being cool!

Gorilla Preserve
The SF Zoo dedicated the Jones Family Gorilla Preserve on Tues afternoon and we all went to hear the praises of the work Rick has done for the zoo and to get a behind the scenes tour of the Gorillas! Maddie loved it all and even got to feed the giraffes in the new giraffe barn at the zoo...she had a wonderful time, wandering around with Great Aunt Lynne, listening to the guitar player and stuffing her mouth with all sort of cheese and crackers from the cocktail party. All around the evening was perfect. More photos to come!

Taylor Comes to Play

Sunday was a busy day! After brunch and a nap Taylor E. came over to play in a wonderful sunny San Francisco afternoon--we are 2 weeks apart in age and clearly love to play together. We made messes with chalk and sand, but in the end were fast friends who couldn't keep away from each other--we loved playing tea party too!

My Date With Jason

Mom and Dad went to a great restaurant last night, Maverick. Bad neighborhood (17th and Misson) but great food from a few Sociale Alums...They liked it so much that they dragged me back 12 hrs later for brunch with uncle Jason...we had a great time. Here's a shot of us dining...

This place also had great bread which make any restaurant good in my book. It was so huge I kept stuffing bigger and bigger pieces in my mouth until I could barely chew!

You can't see it but you can see the GG Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts framed by the lake. Maddie is taking it all in....
I think I'll sit right here and watch the fountain for awhile.

Letterman Park
If you haven't been there yet make a point to go--its such a wonderful addition to the city, and especially the Presidio. George Lucas has given us all a wonderful park and given his employees and incredible place to work.

Maddie loves to run around the pathways and is fascinated by the river and lake that are the center of the park way. The view over the park of the GG Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts is incredible...reminds you we live in an amazing city.

All afternoon Maddie ran from spot to spot on the river and lake yelling "Aqua" "Aqua" "Mamma Aqua." It was adorable.

We also saw a helicopter and her first fire truck rushing to an emergency...she didn't understand the siren at first but then she wanted to follow the truck as it raced by.

Tea Party
Maddie and Jen Berry hosted a tea party this morning, and Miss Bailey was so excited to go to her first big girl event! We even got dressed up in a party dress and shoes.

My camera seems to have been freaking out a bit, but here are some shots of the little ones enjoying their party!

Halloween Preview
Here is a shot of Maddie trying out her Fish Costume for Halloween. Since she has loved fishies and pecalitos and giving fishie kisses we decided this was definitely the costume for her!

This is most of Madeline's Play Group a few weeks ago at the park in St. Francis Woods. Clearly these little ones are getting active and having a blast

To Grandmother's House we Go...

Maddie, Steph and Dan visited Grandma and Grandpa Bailey this weekend and had quite a time of it. Somehow everytime we go somewhere on a big family trip Maddie ends up in the emergency room! This weekend she put her hand in the minivan door as it was closing and crunched her thumb and first finger in the door...a quick trip to the Arrowhead hospital and Maddie seems to be much better. Her finger is black and blue, but she has a new friend, Dr. Blueberry Pi (named after her ER doc, Dr. Pi) and the fact that it is a bright blue stuffed bear from The Wishing Bear in Arrowhead. A good memory from a bummer afternoon for our little bear.

We also visited Temecula the wine region of S. California, and Dan got many tasting notes in two quick tasting rooms. Maddie thought the stage and lawn area outside the tasting room was more fun, as well as the skateboarders and giant poodle we met.

Many hours of coloring, painting, making footprints with water on the patio and generally hanging out with grandparents made for a memorable weekend. Mom even managed to find 1 hour to outlet shop for new Carter's PJs for a quickly growing little girl.
